Veterinary Receptionist

Position Overview
Village Vet Clinic is seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our animal hospital. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will manage appointments, handle phone inquiries, process payments, and ensure a smooth, pleasant experience for every pet owner who walks through our doors. Key Responsibilities
- Answer multi-line phone system and direct calls professionally
- Schedule veterinary appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Greet clients and patients with a warm, welcoming demeanor
- Process client payments, invoices, and insurance claims
- Maintain accurate client and pet records in veterinary software
- Handle medical records requests and documentation
- Process prescription refill orders and medical requests
- Answer questions about services, hours, and veterinary procedures
- Manage the front desk inventory (forms, supplies, etc.)
- Assist with general administrative and clerical tasks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front office
- Support veterinary staff with scheduling coordination
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ years of customer service or front office experience (medical office preferred)
- Proficient with computers and office software (email, scheduling systems, databases)
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanor and attention to detail
- Basic math skills for payment processing
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software (AAHA, Cornerstone, etc.)
- Experience processing pet insurance claims
- Bilingual abilities (Spanish preferred)
- Genuine love for animals and pet owners
